Westfield Insurance is proud to join Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh on National Rebuilding Day, Saturday, April 25 when more than 1,000 volunteers will donate time, skills and materials to renovate thirty older dwellings into safe, affordable housing.
As a sponsor, Westfield Insurance donated financial resources and will provide a team of volunteers to work on a home at 336 Fifth Street in Rankin, PA. Joining Westfield will be one of their local independent agency partners, Cusumano Insurance, continuing Westfield?s initiative to involve business partners and customers on community endeavors.
Additionally, when Westfield saw the amount of skilled electrical work needed for their house, they asked Miller Electric, a Westfield customer, to join the effort. Miller Electric has donated skilled labor for Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh previously, and they were happy to partner with their insurance carrier for the endeavor. Finally, when Kevin Lynch, of Belfor, which provides disaster restoration services to Westfield?s customers, learned of the activity, he also signed up to volunteer.
"We?re committed to investing in all our communities. This is just another small way for us to say thank you to this community. Thank you to the employees and agency partners that work hard for us every day. Thank you to the customers who trust Westfield to protect them," says Jim Clay, president of Westfield Insurance.
Westfield Insurance partners in the Pittsburgh area with KDKA to bring Hometown High Q, a televised high school academic quiz that provides winning schools with academic grants, and with KDKA and For on Taking the Lead-Driving Skills for Life, a teen driver safety initiative.
